DESCRIPTION: Nine prints (with negatives) copied from original photographs taken following a mine explosion in which over 170 people were killed at Utah Fuel Company's Castle Gate No. 2 Mine on March 8, 1924. Subjects include Greek funerals held simultaneously for 17 of the victims, open graves at Price Cemetery awaiting arrival of funeral parties on March 14, arrival of the funeral parties, improvised hearses at cemetery showing coffins awaiting their turn at burial, widows and orphans of three victims of the mining disaster (Archie Henderson, Joe Tallerico, and O.H. Rollins), a group of orphans in Willow Creek, and a group of Red Cross volunteers.
