DESCRIPTION: The majority of the glass plate negatives are prisoner identification photographs (mug shots) from circa 1900. A few negatives are combination photographs from the 1930s of a mug shot of an escaped inmate together with his fingerprint card. There are also negatives depicting scenes from the former prison at Sugar House, including the cell house, the interior of the chapel, and exterior shots of prison buildings. Inmates are included in some photographs. There are also photographs of unidentified individuals and groups.
