DESCRIPTION: The State Health Plans described the specific programs the Division of Health proposed to execute during the upcoming fiscal year. The Plans were required by law to support use of federal funds, a significant part of the Division's budget. The Plans also functioned as a guide to Division staff members in the accomplishment of their objectives. The content of the Plans ranges from broad to specific, including the following: the State Plan for Public Health Services, the State Plan for Maternal and Child Health and Crippled Children's Programs, the Public Health Plan for Water Pollution Control, the State Plan for Construction of Hospital and Medical Facilities, Mental Health facilities, and facilities for the Mentally Retarded. This series includes multiple versions of some Plans, at various stages in the drafting and approval process.
