SERIES: 1151
TITLE: Correspondence
DATES: 1909-1911.
ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by day, month, and year.

DESCRIPTION: Most of this series contains correspondence contending with gathering information on Utah's available resources, e.g., forest reserves, coal mines, irrigable and non irrigable land, water, natural scenery, production of minerals, climate, arid farming, and both private and public land. The information was accrued for a resource map made by the Conservation Commission. The purpose of the map was to help Utahns better understand what resources were available and how to utilize them without waste. The information was collected from national and state governmental departments, Utah counties, and private companies. The remainder of the correspondence entails the daily office chores, expenses, circulation of the resource map and duties of the commission members who were responsible for specific areas of study, e.g., agriculture, water power, irrigation, and forestry resources.
