DESCRIPTION: The governors and state defense councils used the Planning Board to collect information and to prepare long range defense studies of basic state resources, including agriculture, transportation, power facilities, water and fuel supply, housing, industrial plants and equipment, labor, raw materials and sites for new defense establishments. This series contains reports and correspondence concerning the development of these new sites of defense. They include reports on Fort Douglas; a preliminary report on the potential sites; and descriptions of sites in Alpine, Draper, Heber, Huntsville, Kamas, Parley's Canyon, Snyderville, Strawberry, Ogden, and Tooele.
