DESCRIPTION: The Division of Consumer Protection administers and enforces the Credit Services Organizations Act (Utah Code 13-21) as mandated by Utah Code 13-2-102(2)(e) (2027).

Registration records document the requirements for a credit service organization operating in Utah. Records include, surety documents, copies of business licenses, articles of incorporation, and other records required for registration.

Under Utah Code 63A-19-401.1 (2026), the Utah Department of Commerce hereby discloses this record series includes personal data.

Personal data that may be contained in an investigative file (no action) may include name, home phone number, social security number, and applicant's criminal history.

The Division collects registration information to determine if an applicant meets statutory/rule registration requirements.
