TITLE: Bounty applications
DATES: 1896-1904.
ARRANGEMENT: Alphabetical by county, thereunder chronological by year.
DESCRIPTION: These records document one of the primary activities of the Silk Commission which was to pay bounties to individuals or corporations producing silk cocoons. The bounty applications consist of two documents, the application for bounty signed by the grower and by a representative of the Silk Commission, and a certificate of transmittal to the Secretary of State. Bounties were paid at a rate of 25 cents per pound of cocoons produced.
