DESCRIPTION: These records are used to identify a patient's risk factors and to record the progress of each individual's pregnancy. The Utah prenatal record system (UPRS) creates a uniform record of every pregnancy. The record aids the provider by focusing attention on the risks associated with the pregnancy, seeks to improve statewide data collection and outcome measurements, and ensures that infant and maternal activities are monitored. Information includes age, living conditions, marital status, physical description, health information, etc. This information was being compiled for a ten year study to provide statistical information about Utah's prenatal care. Due to a change in policy, this study was never completed.
