DESCRIPTION: This series contains correspondence created by various state agencies, as well as related correspondence created by Governor Rampton and the citizens of Utah, all of which was generated in efforts to develop and delegate appropriate state policies. This series holds correspondence, reports, a small number of photographs, and other related items. The papers reflect the activity of the state agencies and the nature of the interaction between these agencies and the Governor 's office. Correspondence may be found on topics including atomic energy and emergency services, alcoholism and drugs, higher education in a time of campus unrest, civil rights and equal employment opportunity, environmental health, natural resources, transportation and development of a tourist-friendly state, the celebration of America's bicentennial, Utahns who died in the Vietnam War, and the reorganization of the executive branch of the state government through the recommendations of the Little Hoover Commission .
