TITLE: Legislative bill files
DATES: 1977-1984.
ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by session, thereunder alphanumeric by bill type and number.

DESCRIPTION: This series contains copies of House and Senate bills and resolutions, as well as drafts, notes, and related correspondence from Governor Matheson's office. The Governor received copies of legislative bills in order to determine his own position on the issue and what his action on the bill would be, as well as to relay copies of many of the bills to the Attorney General for an opinion on the constitutionality of the bill. Most of the correspondence is generated by the legislature, the Attorney General's office, and the Governor's office.
