AGENCY: Department of Government Operations. Division of Finance. Payroll Office

SERIES: 16586
TITLE: Leave accounting system
DATES: 1985-1993.
ARRANGEMENT: None.

DESCRIPTION: This system records leave use, accruals, adjustments, and balances for all state employees and determines the state's liability for leave. The system provides features for determining the State's liability for balances of accrued leave, eliminating erroneous payments for leave not earned, and providing reports for controlling, monitoring, and evaluating leave usage. The leave data in the system is considered the official record of leave accruals, usages, and balances for all state employees. Although the system is centrally administered, each agency is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of data within the system. It also updates the leave history for each employee.__All state agncies have access to the ADABAS files which update the system. The leave accounting system is entirely reliant on the payroll/personnel system for updates. The transaction files which perform this function are ADABAS files which have already been scheduled in the Payroll system. This system produces a year-end report at the agency which is a statement of leave usage. This record is signed by the employee and becomes the official record. Includes Public Employee Leave History File and System Documentation.
