TITLE: Special assessments-street lighting books
DATES: 1895-1896.
ARRANGEMENT: Alphabetical by name of owner.

DESCRIPTION: These two books are labeled "Assessment Roll for Street Lights in Lamp District No. 1 Salt Lake City". They were used to maintain a record of property owners assessed a special tax for street lighting. Each page of the book is printed to indicate the assessment commenced March 15, 1895 and ended March 15, 1986. Each page is divided into the following columns: name of owner; address; description of real estate; number of lot; number of block; plat letter; assessment made by commissioners; changes made by the levies board of equalization and review (additions and deductions); number of complaint; total amount assessment; amount paid; and remarks or by whom paid.
