DESCRIPTION: This series contains Environmental Technical Reports published by Henningson, Durham, and Richardson (HDR Sciences), Santa Barbara, California. They were created for the United States Air Force Ballistic Missile Office, Norton Air Force Base, California. They were used to assess the environmental impact of the proposed MX Missile System in potential deployment areas. They were used in Utah by the MX Coordination Office to plan for the MX Missile System and to study the possible impacts related to its construction. The reports are extremely detailed and contain analyses performed for different deployment scenarios. The series includes reports on both Designated Deployment Areas (DDAs) for the MX Missile System for Nevada/Utah
and Texas/New Mexico, as well as reports on each county that would likely be affected by construction of the MX Missile System in Utah and Nevada. The reports contain information on the socioeconomic impacts of construction of the missile system. Reports are included for Eureka, Clark, Lincoln, Nye, and White Pine Counties in Nevada and for Salt Lake/Utah, Washington, Millard, Beaver, Iron, and Juab Counties in Utah. There are also reports on a number of areas of concern, including Atmospheric Resources, Vegetation, Wildlife, Aquatic Habitats and Biota, Protected Species, Natural Areas, Traffic, Land Use, Geology and Mining, Water Resources, Cultural Resources, Energy, Cement, Steel, Economic Model, Social Model, Public Finance Model, Indirect Effects, Construction, Noise, and SRM (Systematic Ranking Methodology). In addition there are reports on operating base locations at Milford, Ely, Coyote, Beryl, Delta, Clovis, and Dalhart.
