DESCRIPTION: This series contains the original abstracts and briefs filed by attorneys arguing cases before the Utah Supreme Court. Abstracts generally are summaries or excerpts from the records of the lower court which originally heard a case. Briefs are written arguments of the attorneys and generally will include citations to the legal authorities (laws, previous court decisions, etc.) on which the attorney is basing his argument.

FORMAT MANAGEMENT

Paper: For records prior to and including 1948. Retain in State Records Center until microfilmed and then transfer to State Archives with authority to weed.

Microfilm master: Retain in State Archives permanently with authority to weed.

Microfilm duplicate: Retain in State Archives permanently with authority to weed.

Paper: For records beginning in 1948 and continuing to the present. Retain in Office permanently.
