AGENCY: Piute County (Utah). Justice of the Peace : Junction Precinct

SERIES: 19026
TITLE: Justice docket
DATES: 1907-1932; 1949-1963.
ARRANGEMENT: Chronological

DESCRIPTION: This docket documents criminal cases heard by the justice of the peace court. This preprinted book contains handwritten descriptions of misdemeanor cases (most commonly public intoxication and disturbing the peace). While the book is identified as Junction Precinct, beginning in 1949 the name Junction was scribbled out and Circleville Precinct added. Since later cases used blank pages between early cases, arrangement is not strictly chronological. There are loose pages (complaints, arrest warrants, and correspondence) for Circleville Precinct placed throughout the book. The book includes name of the justice court judge, names of plaintiff and defendant, charge, date case heard, summary of case, decision, fines, and justice of peace signature.
