DESCRIPTION: This series contains correspondence, "county profiles," newspaper clippings, and other information generated by county governments, the Governor's office, and others regarding issues of concern to those counties and the development of policies to address those concerns. This series also includes schedules and other related materials generated by Governor Matheson's office regarding trips that Matheson made during his administrations to counties throughout Utah. Also contained in this series are records from representatives of various governments of cities and towns, filed with records from the appropriate county. Issues of concern to local and county government representatives include water management, economic development, employment rates and job training, highways and transportation, energy development, power plant sitings, wilderness designations, housing, health facilities, and the floods and mudslides that several Utah counties experienced in 1983. Records created by agency administration to document the research, creation and application of agency programs, policies and procedures. May include correspondence, policy and program case files, and executive files documenting leadership roles and decision making processes.
