DESCRIPTION: This series is made up of minutes recorded at meetings of the Utah Centennial Commission, created in 1939 to commemorate the advent of the pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley. These typewritten minutes are an official record of meetings of the commission and the executive committee. Typical entries note the date, time meeting convened and adjourned, and location of the meeting as well as the names of commission members in attendance or absent. Also recorded are the nature of the business discussed, plans presented, suggestions made, and actions taken (motions made, votes taken, decisions made, assignments made, etc.). In some cases a meeting agenda and notification letters are included.
