TITLE: Taking Stock: an inventory of information systems

DESCRIPTION: Taking Stock, volumes 1 and 2, was published as the result of a collaborative project between the Office of Planning and Budget, the Division of Information Technology Services, and the State Archives. The intention was to inventory all automated information systems and associated data, in order to provide managers with information that would help them manage their data processing operations. Volume 1 contains introductory and explanatory material and shows, by means of flow charts, data processing equipment extant at the time of the inventory in different agencies. Volume 2 is an inventory of systems currently used by different agencies when the inventory took place. This volume is organized by a number used for identification of a system in a data dictionary and includes a description of the data collected.
