TITLE: Advisory commission on prison removal correspondence

ARRANGEMENT: Alphabetical by subject, thereunder chronological.
DESCRIPTION: The Planning Board, through State Advisory Commission secretary and planning board director, Sumner Margetts, worked to select, acquire, and develop the site for the new State Prison. The prison at Sugarhouse was to be relocated and the new site was to be chosen by the committee. This series contains the correspondence received and sent by the commission and covers such subjects as construction, law enforcement, notices of meetings, options granted to the commission to purchase land, proposed projects, the point-of-the-mountain site, and the Sugarhouse site.
