DESCRIPTION: The State Planning Board conducted studies on the expansion of governmental services and the costs of state government functions in order to have a clear understanding of state expenditures. The planning board also worked in conjunction with the Educational Survey Committee to make a comprehensive study of state funds and "earmarking." Included in this series is the report on earmarking which details state and local revenue sources, public expenditures, financing of education, and roads and public assistance in Utah. Also included are analyses of the cost of government: duties of government officials; state budget analyses; legislative articles and correspondence; and reports on redistricting the county boundaries.
