DESCRIPTION: The Utah Planning Agency studied long-range plans for the development of Utah's transportation systems. One of their members was assigned to the Utah Traffic Safety Council which was formed by the governor in June 1939 to assist the state departments charged with traffic safety activities. Through their work with these departments they created more efficient means of accident reporting, licensing, keeping record of fines, and tracking accident-prone areas and drivers. Included in this series is their correspondence; a bulletin of their activities; minutes; and reports of fines, checking stations, mileage marking, and traffic accidents.
