TITLE: Governor-elect records

DESCRIPTION: After winning the 1964 gubernatorial election, Governor-elect Rampton collected materials relating to issues that would be of concern to him throughout his tenure in office; he also preserved letters he received from constituents after the election but before his inauguration. This series contains correspondence (especially congratulatory letter) to Governor-elect Rampton, as well as background materials on various topics, most notably education and the federal Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. Also included in this series are typed statements of Rampton's positions on various subjects, including Utah's economic development, promotion and expansion of industry, labor, and natural resources.
