TITLE: Information Practices Act revision files

DESCRIPTION: These files document the State Archives' attempts to revise the Information Practices Act. These attempts ultimately resulted in the appointment of a legislative task force which wrote the Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA),which was passed by the Utah State Legislature in 1991. These records were collected by Archives staff member, Cherie Nash Willis, the Information Practices Act officer. They include research on federal laws and other state laws; minutes and notes from various media/public interest groups,and local government committees; draft bills; newspaper clippings; notes of telephone conversations; agenda and minutes of the Information Practices Task Force; various draft proposals; and related correspondence.
