DESCRIPTION: In addition to correspondence and reports, the mine inspector collected miscellaneous records relating to coal mining. He kept information about mine locations and facts about production. He kept advertisements and information about coal mining equipment, as well as brief notes about mining laws and regulations, including details of amendments to the State Coal Mining Laws of 1901. He kept a copy of a legal contract between a mining company and a mine operator, and a list of certified mine bosses.
