TITLE: David C. settlement case files

DESCRIPTION: These are Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) case files provided to the National Center for Youth Law (NCYL) as part of the David C. settlement agreement. The settlement stated that the NCYL had the right to request and receive copies of DCFS case files whenever they felt that problems were occurring. DCFS pulled the requested case file, made two photocopies, and provided one to NCYL. The other photocopy was placed in a file to be used as evidence of what had been given to NCYL and when the information was made available. These records are being kept at the request of the Attorney General's office and are currently being used in litigation.
