DESCRIPTION: The Fine Arts Council was established by Senate Bill 86 in 1899. The bill mandated that a competition and exhibition for Utah artists be held each year with selected art purchased for the permanent state collection. This series contains records that help to document the growth of this collection. It includes collection inventories, artist records, investigative reports, and an insurance proposal.
