DESCRIPTION: This series documents the evaluation of potential locations for state parks; including but not limited to parcels of land, monuments, and campgrounds. Records in this series comprise all documentation and data related to the review of potential park areas, including all supporting materials, internal correspondence, and administrative findings.
This series contains records for locations that ultimately were not incorporated into the State Parks system. Records may be maintained by State Parks to facilitate the potential re-evaluation of these areas should future business needs or opportunities arise.

Inventory of personal information may include: Name, address, phone number, email address, business name, financial information, professional licensure information.
Purpose for collecting the information: To facilitate the investigation of potential park sites. To maintain direct and necessary contact with property owners, authorized business representatives, and vendors throughout the lifecycle of an evaluation.

This appraisal is based upon the value of these records to historians in researching the state park system and the process of state park selection and acquisition. These records have historical value based on their evidence of the significant effects of governmental programs and actions on individuals, communities, and the natural and man-made environment.
