Most cases involve the United States of America vs. a litigant and most attorneys are listed as the U.S. attorney, usually unnamed. Cases are divided into categories: Civil causes, Territorial criminal causes, and U.S. criminal causes. In addition to the docket, the final book also contains notes about court that have been written in pencil and then crossed out.
