DESCRIPTION: The Indigent Defense Funds Board is tasked with establishing rules and procedures and managing the disbursement of funds to counties from the various indigent trust funds.

Minutes document the calculations of annual contributions to the funds, as well as the application process for and disbursement of funds to counties. Minutes also document the agency's proceedings to establish its own rules of procedure, elect its own officers, and appoint committees of its members and other people as may be reasonable and necessary. Minutes also document the agency's efforts to negotiate, enter into, and administer contracts with legal counsel who provide defense counsel services to indigents (Utah Code 77-32-402(1997)). In addition to approved minutes, records also may include the agenda, notices, any public materials distributed at the meeting, and other supporting documentation.
