DESCRIPTION: These records are submitted to the Office of Vital Records and Statistics by the courts to document divorces. The Office then uses these records to prepare statistical information and statements of divorce. The information Includes the parties' names, addresses, places and dates of birth, race, educational levels, and number of previous marriages; the place and date of the marriage; the date the couple separated; the total number of children and the number of children under eighteen; the name of the petitioner's attorney; the type of decree; the county of decree; and the signature of the certifying official.
