DESCRIPTION: This series contains printed and clipped news articles related to iProvo, Provo City's fiber to the home service. iProvo officially began construction in 2004, and it was completed within two years. It was initially operated as a public-private partnership, with Provo owning and maintaining the fiber optic lines and equipment, and private companies providing the television, telephone, and internet service to the city. In 2013, Provo sold iProvo's existing networks to Google. The news articles in this series cover the genesis of the network, and its progress over the years. They also contain information about public opinion during the operations of iProvo, including both support and criticism.
