DESCRIPTION: This series comprises annual reports submitted to the Secretary of State by Utah State government commissions, boards, departments, and other institutions, as required by chapter 153 of The Laws of Utah, 1957. Reports were edited for content, brevity, and uniformity and compiled into a single volume to be printed and published for the use of the legislature. governor, and other essential purposes. Reports to the Secretary of State were to include (1) a detailed statement of important official acts of the governing board of each agency, (2) growth and condition, (3) report of chief executive officer, (4) list of officials and their salaries, (5) estimate of cash value of real and personal property, (6) estimate of cash value of real and personal property of state in connection with institution, and (7) an inventory of real and personal property. General contents included a detailed statement of the manner in which all appropriations were expended and other material intended for the legislature, governor, and other uses. Excluded was financial data included in the State Auditor's financial report.
