ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by month, thereunder alphabetical by employee's surname

DESCRIPTION: This one-volume register was used to record service by employees of the Salt Lake City Police Department. For each month beginning in December 1893 and ending with December 1897, there is an alphabetical listing of department employees. A mark appears in the corresponding column for each day served. Beneath these columns may be notations for date appointed, sick days, vacation days, days suspended, etc. The total number of days served during the month are noted in the first part of the volume. Under the column heading "remarks" are such notations as date suspended, date resigned, date dismissed, cause of dismissal, date appointed assistant jailor or date appointed patrolman, "second year", and date killed.
