DESCRIPTION: These records document contributions and expenditures from candidates campaigning for Congress or President. Candidates are required to file papers containing this financial information by 2 USC 439. Section 439 also states that copies of these financial records must be filed with the Secretary of State in every state so the local citizenry has access to the information. In 1999, Utah received an exemption from maintaining copies of reports from federal filing entities except candidates and contributors for United States Senate. Those reports are now contained in serie 22421-Federal Election Commission United States Senate candidate and contributor reports.
