DESCRIPTION: This is a record of slaughterhouse inspections which ensure the proper treatment and disposal of industrial wastes.

Included in this record series is Summary of Wastewater Culinary Water, and Action Needed; annual lists of licensed slaughterhouses; Lists of the Current Status of State Licensed Slaughterhouses Failing to Meet Requirements for Water; Wastewater, and Solid Waste, and information sheets. Information contained within these records also includes: name, address, grade, and license number of slaughterhouse, name and telephone number of owner, culinary water source, wastewater and solid waste disposal methods, principle product or process of plant, duration of specific processing operations, the number of employees, quantity of materials processed, amount of water used, wastewater control within the disposal system, characteristics of employees, the quantity of materials processed, the amount of water used, the method of wastewater control, the characteristics of the wastewater, and the capital expenditures and costs.

According to Utah Code Annotated 76-10-801, any person, whether as agent, owner or occupant who befouls the waters of the state is guilty of a class B misdemeanor. According to UCA 76-1-302, the statute of limitations for prosecuting a misdemeanor is two years.
