DESCRIPTION: This election law extract is a compilation of Utah voting laws as amended to the current published year. It is published biannually as a public record, noting changes in state and local general election laws. The name was changed to "Election Laws of Utah" on or before 1915. By 1928, the publication was known as "General Election Laws." The name was changed to "Extract of General Election Laws" on or before 1981. The publication was produced by the secretary of state's office until the Archives began publishing it in 1969. Holdings include the following years: 1898, 1915, 1928, 1936-1940, 1942-1946, 1947-1949, 1952-1958, 1961, 1963, 1966, 1969-1973, 1975, 1981, and 1984. The extract was published annually until 1940. A supplement was published in 1983, and the 1970 issue contains a comprehensive index to that date.
