DESCRIPTION: This is a monitoring record of the types of routine drugs prescribed and administered to the patient by the unit nurse. This is to ensure that the medication was ordered prior to administration of a drug, that the proper drug was administered for the symptom, low level intervention was present (this is a communication with the patient to note how he is feeling, checking for allergic reaction, and other related side affects), and that a reason for administration was present.

This series is used to monitor for compliance, and to ensure that the proper procedures were followed according to the job description.

This includes the patient number, the unit name, the medication ordered and dispensed, monitors, comments, and quality indicators.
