DESCRIPTION: These files document ELISA tests for Acquired Immuned Deficiency Syndrome antibody production. The ELISA is a test that measures AIDS antibody production. When the test results are positive, a western Blot test is then given to patients to confirm of negate the ELISA test. When a patient tests positive, the unit is given basic information in order to take the proper precautions when treating the patients. When a patient is discharged, the test results are transfered to that persons medical record. Information includes patient's hospital number, results, and admission date.
