DESCRIPTION: This single volume documents some 250 individual cases heard by the Hinckley Precinct Justice Court. It contains the date, the names of the parties involved, the complaint or reason for the hearing or court appearance, the name of the justice of the peace, the names of the attorneys, the type of papers filed, and the decision rendered in the case. Criminal and civil matters, including at least one marriage, are contained in this volume. The justices also kept an accounting of costs associated with each case. An incomplete case index appears at the front of this volume.

Typical cases involve demand for payment of delinquent taxes, suit for recovery of funds, fish and game violations, complaints that irrigation water had been allowed to flood public roads and private property, assault and battery, rape, unlawful smoking of tobacco and drinking of alcohol by minors, disturbing the peace, playing basketball at a public school ground on Sunday, and the theft of livestock.
