DESCRIPTION: These cards are an employee's leave and payroll record. The size and the amount of information contained on the cards has evolved through the years. The earliest cards were larger and contained more information. All cards include the name and home address of the employee, location of employment, social security number, leave earned and taken, regular pay, gross pay, deductions, totals to date and balances. In 1976, this payroll system was replaced.

This retention is based on the administrative needs expressed by the department. These cards are obsolete and should be destroyed. Retirement information contained on these cards is duplicated on the history cards.
