Legal authority for collecting, keeping, or using personal data: Utah Code 63G-2-304(2008). These are files filed in Utah district and appellate courts. Under the Utah courts' policies, Utah Rules of Civil Procedure and the Rules of Appellate procedure, there may be information regarding a person's name, address, email, phone number, and information about the claim for public assistance benefits that was filed with the courts. See Utah Rules of Civil Procedure 17, Utah Rules of Criminal Procedure 4, Utah Rules of Appellate Procedure 3, and Article 2 of the Utah Code of Judicial Administration. These files may also include a person's personal data as required by unemployment compensation, eligibility services, child care subsidies, Medicaid or job development which may be in dispute.

Computer data files: For records beginning in 2015 and continuing to the present. Retain in Office for 10 years or until administrative need is met, whichever is greater, and then delete.
