DESCRIPTION: This record documents eligibility and reimbursements for out-of- the-area job searches. This benefit is available to individuals laid off by employers certified by the U. S. Department of Labor as having been adversely affected by imports, as stipulated by the Trade Act of 1974. These searches are limited to a maximum reimbursement of $800. Eligibility is dependent upon an individual's making application within 365 days of the employer's Trade Adjustment Assistance certification or within 365 days of separation from an employer so certified.
