DESCRIPTION: In these two volumes were recorded appointments made for George Dewey Clyde, the state's tenth chief executive. Appointments in the 1956 volume were in connection with the Republican gubernatorial candidate's successful election campaign and preparations to assume office. The 1957 volume reflects appointments during the newly elected governor's first year in office. Information recorded for each appointment includes the date and time, the name of the individual(s) or organization with which Clyde was to meet, the location of the meeting, and the purpose of the meeting (campaign rally, radio or television appearance, signing of a bill or proclamation, whether Clyde was to make a speech, etc.). Appointments for the first two months of 1958 are also noted in the 1957 volume.
