Scope and Content

The Paragonah sexton created a register of persons who were buried in the Paragonah cemetery. This register begins with a map of the cemetery which identifies the owner of each plot. The general map is followed by maps for each plot, which indicate who was buried in the plot and in what position. Each map is accompanied by a list of information pertaining to the persons buried therein, including full name, birth date and place, names of mother and father, death date and place, burial date, and name of spouse.

Indexes: The sexton created an alphabetical index to persons buried in the Paragonah cemetery. The index indicates which plot the individual was buried in and the page number where burial was detailed in the interment register. The index is at the beginning of the book.
