Scope and Content
These minutes are the official record of the proceedings of regularly scheduled, special and emergency council meetings. They document topics discussed and decisions made by the town council, including discussions about licenses, resolutions, ordinances, budgets, events, and more. Also included are supplemental materials related to discussions, including the relevant ordinances and resolutions, correspondence related to an issue, audits and budget worksheets, and public comments. Each meeting's minutes includes a list of council member attendees; an agenda; the date, time, and place of the meeting; a record of discussion and motions made; and the attestation of the recorder. Minutes are typically stamped with the town seal after approval. Issues that are discussed in these minutes include: the town budget; Pony Express days and other cultural events; disputes over property, including nuisance reports and escalations; and applications of business licenses.
Gaps in Series
Records in this series dating 1926-1937 and 1942-1985 are not in the holdings of the State Archives. Additionally, for records dating 1938-1941, the State Archives does hold microfilm copies but the physical originals are not in its holdings.
