Scope and Content
This series includes three scrapbook albums containing materials related to Superintendent Roger Kiger's professional activities. Kiger was appointed as acting superintendent of the State Hospital in April 1971 and then as superintendent several months later. Prior to that time he had worked for the hospital for about 12 years as director of the forensic and South Salt Lake units. He served as superintendent until 1977. There are a few personal items in the scrapbooks, but the most of the materials relate to his activity in the mental health profession. The scrapbooks contain such items as newspaper articles, newsletters, professional conference programs, and a variety of correspondence with professional colleagues.
