Information in the register includes date of birth\, name and address of parents\, color (black or white)\, sex\, whether stillborn or live birth\, name of attending physician\, and remarks. In addition to the register\, the clerk collected a number of birth certificates and affidavits confirming birth dates\, some of which occurred before 1890.
