Requests for the extradition of fugitives originated at the local level\, usually from county attorneys\, district courts\, justices of the peace\, or police officials. They were often accompanied by court documents or correspondence. In response to the local level request\, the governor's office issued the formal extradition document\, a copy of which is recorded in this series. Information is recorded on standard forms.
